Consultation
£72 60 mins
New clients booking a treatment at M&G are required to book a consultation. This session will consist of 15-20 minute consultation and 40-45 minutes of treatment. I will ask about your medical and injury history, outcome goals, sports or hobbies, occupation, and lifestyle. I may assess your posture, joints or injury. I pride myself on providing effective massage treatments that are always tailored around your needs. The consultation will give us both a chance to ask or answer any questions that may arise and to decide on the best way to tailor your massage treatments. Once you have had your initial consultation you can book any treatment available at M&G.
Sports Massage
£72 60 mins | £54 45 mins
You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage. Sports massage works deep in the muscles, realigning muscle fibres and connective tissue. Making it very beneficial if you have chronic pain or restricted range or movement. Problems arise from hobbies and occupations too. During our consultation we will learn about you, your specific problems, your sports, training habits, your goals. I will use this information to deliver a first class massage that is tailored to you. Techniques may include trigger point therapy, muscle stretching and deep tissue work. Sports massage is also a great choice for those who prefer a deeper massage.
Sports Massage – Build your own
£72 60 mins | £54 45 mins
Sometimes manual therapy isn’t quite enough. When booking the build your own treatment you will have the sports massage as detailed above plus the option to ‘add on’ any of the 4 advanced techniques – Ultrasound Therapy, Dry Needling, Kinesiology Taping, Dry Cupping.
Some injuries, particularly those which affect the joints i.e. tennis elbow, knee pain and frozen shoulder can be stubborn injuries and require additional advanced treatments. Ultrasound therapy is a form of mechanical energy, the mechanical vibration produces sound energy and this produces high frequency sound waves which agitate the cells to stimulate and enhance healing. Dry needling is also an advanced technique that introduces a fine needle into the skin and deeper into the muscles, fascia, tendon and joints to work on trigger points and muscular tension. Initiating a ‘twitch response’ and involuntary contraction of the muscle allows the muscle to relax and stimulates the body’s natural healing process. Kinesiology tape (K tape) can benefit a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports injuries, plus inflammatory conditions, helping you to prevent injury and return to sport quicker. K tape is applied over the muscle to reduce plain and inflammation, relax overused tired muscles, and to support muscles in movement 24 hrs a day. During Dry Cupping, the cups are placed over several areas to create a vacuum which lifts the soft tissue and creates an upward stretch within the muscle and associated fascia. This vacuum lift helps to increase in blood flow and induces a stretch effect, which results in a reduction in muscle tension and associated pain. Cups can either be left in a static position or moved to provide a deep tissue massage effect.
